I’ve decided to concentrate more on beauty posts. Its something that I’m really passionate about 🙂
I’ve been toying with the idea of going cruelty free with my makeup and skincare for a few months now. When I came across a post from The Body Shop on facebook, I felt a nudge to finally take the plunge. Luckily 80% of my makeup was already cruelty free and/or vegan at the time anyway…It was just those few pesky items that I thought I couldn’t live without!
The Body Shop Let’s ban animal testing worldwide! Together, with our partner @CrueltyFreeInternational we want to ban animal testing for cosmetics purposes forever, everywhere in the world. Join the cause by signing our petition: http://bit.ly/2rgIwEF 🐰#ForeverAgainstAnimalTesting
Hi all 🙂
Its been a while since my last post. I’m definitely still trying to get into a routine and get my ‘groove’ back. I wrote a beautiful blog post last month about the differences between living in South Africa vs living in New Zealand…but it just turned into a novel 🙈
Its been eight months now since I left my home in Cape Town and moved to Auckland. I’m not going to sugar coat it. Its darn tough and without a doubt, the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life so far. Was it worth it though..? Most definitely.
Its been a crazy past few months. I feel like a little kid stuck on a merry-go-round. Someone is pushing it, making it spin really fast, but its not slowing down, and I’m holding on with all my might. Continue reading
Hello all 🙂
I’ve been living in Auckland, New Zealand for more than a week now. Continue reading
Hello all 🙂
I have been doing a lot of soul searching lately. Reading amazing therapeutic books, listening to insightful people and talking to non judgemental, open minded people. I feel amazing at this moment as I sit here, listening to Adele’s 25 album.
Hello everyone 🙂
I’ve been wanting to blog about my personal journey for a few months now, but the topic is a bit tricky to articulate. I think you need to be able to relate in order to understand.
Let’s start from the beginning. I was an awkward, shy and scared child. I went through my whole childhood feeling worthless and like I would never amount to anything. I won’t go into why I felt this way, but this is how I grew up. I felt like an outsider for pretty much my whole life, until a few years ago when I started to love and accept myself. Continue reading
Hi everyone 🙂
A few days ago – on Sunday to be exact, I had the amazing and exciting opportunity of practicing my makeup skills for a personal photoshoot. I’ve been dying to be behind the lens for something other than belly dance. So this was my chance to dabble with a boudoir theme. For obvious reasons, only a few images will be shared online at a later stage. For now, I really wanted to blog about my makeup for the occasion! 😃 Continue reading
Hello all 🙂
Yesterday I was walking casually in a mall, drinking a oh so lovely (and healthy) green smoothie, when all of a sudden a random person jumped in front of me and stopped me. I was so taken aback for a second, instinctively I thought I had maybe dropped something embarrassing from my bag, or maybe I had toilet paper stuck to the bottom of my sneaker..! Continue reading
Hello all 🙂
Every year belly dance is celebrated through this international dance event. Its an amazing opportunity for belly dance professionals and students to shine on stage in front of their peers, friends and family. I have been participating in this event on and off, for the past 6 years or so.
World Belly Dance Day was this past saturday (14th May). I worked hard on developing original, honest choreography, as this was the first time I performed as a solo dancer. I have performed on stage quite a few times as part of a group, but this year was pretty special for me since I was all by myself. Here I am in my second costume, performing a tribal fusion/ hip hop inspired piece. I got a great response from the crowd, which was awesome 🙂
I’ve been a bit quiet lately, but I am back after some much needed downtime. Sometimes you need to take a step back and think about things to get a better perspective. The past few months have been a time for soul searching and a lot of relaxation 🙂
I finally got around to working on something on my life bucket list – Yoga! About a month ago I realised that YouTube is a powerful (and free!) source of workout material. Ever since, I have been searching the heck out of fitness channels while working on my Victoria’s Secret butt and abs 😀 It feels so great to exercise at home in my own space in my own time…
